Through the deconstruction and reinterpretation of original materials and elements, nihil estudio transforms the space to offer a renewed version of what already works, elevating it to its fullest potential. It is the design of a restaurant conceived as an experience in continuous transformation.
Jenkin’s space is organized across two levels, each symbolizing a stage in the brand’s transformation and evolution. In nihil’s words, the ground floor reflects the process of change: it incorporates the new, sheds what is no longer necessary, and preserves what is part of its essence.
Although the materials are repeated on both floors, their application changes radically: on the ground floor, natural light and light tones generate a fresh and dynamic atmosphere; in the basement level, the same elements are transformed to build an intimate, dark, and almost clandestine space, designed for a more relaxed and immersive experience.
In the underground dining area, the design is based on simplicity, where “less is more” is translated into the space. Dark wood, black terracotta, and red lighting are used to envelop the space in a warm atmosphere, inviting introspection and enjoyment.
Lighting becomes the protagonist of the brand’s visual identity: the suspended Loop lamps create a soft, ambient and enveloping light, while a large red neon on the ground floor acts as an artistic piece, drawing attention and adding character.
