New Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs): A further step towards sustainable lighting
04.06.2026
- News
In our ongoing commitment to sustainability, transparency, and responsible design, we have published Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for several of our lighting collections, verified through the official platform The International EPD System.
This step further strengthens our commitment to providing architectural lighting solutions with verified environmental data, offering architects, interior designers, and specifiers reliable information for more sustainable projects aligned with environmental certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, or WELL.
Currently, our most significant product families — representing 18% of our total catalogue — already have publicly available, third-party verified EPDs.
Product families with validated and publicly available EPDs
Swap
The Swap collection has obtained its EPD, validating a production process based on transparency, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
With 1,376 catalogue references, the reference luminaire used for the environmental assessment presents the following values:
- 2,08 m³ water consumption
- 9,65 kg CO₂e carbon footprint
- 12,8 MJ of renewable energy used in manufacturing
- 23,9 kg de CO₂ avoided at end of life through recycling and energy recovery
Shot Light and Shot Light Surface
The Shot Light and Shot Light Surface collections have also obtained their Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). With a total of 1,184 catalogue references, the reference luminaire used for the Shot Light family presents the following environmental indicators:
-
- 3.60 m³ water consumption
- 14.4 kg CO₂e carbon footprint
- 4.97 MJ of renewable energy used in manufacturing
- 23.9 kg of CO₂ avoided at end of life through recycling and energy recovery
Black Foster
Black Foster Recessed and Black Foster Micro 24V and 48V have also obtained their Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). With a total of 1,404 catalogue references, the reference luminaire used for the environmental assessment presents the following values:
-
- 4.55 m³ water consumption
- 17.8 kg CO₂e carbon footprint
- 3.77 MJ of renewable energy used in manufacturing
- 2.67 kg of CO₂ avoided at end of life through recycling and energy recovery
EPDs allow us to provide verified environmental data that enables more sustainable design in architecture and lighting projects.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) allow us to assess the environmental impact of a luminaire throughout its entire life cycle: from raw material extraction and manufacturing processes to transportation, use, and end-of-life recycling.
With this initiative, we continue to move towards more conscious and efficient lighting, aligned with sustainable building standards and the principles of the circular economy.
