Some designs defy the passage of time. They remain, like an unforgettable melody, reminding us that true beauty is always discreet, elegant and timeless. Such is Hey Joe, a luminaire designed by Rubén Saldaña — Product Director at Arkoslight — as a tribute to the great contemporary classics of the 1960s.

Its name inevitably calls to mind the song Hey Joe, a popular track that achieved immortality in the hands of Jimi Hendrix. But behind its form there is also a nod to one of the great names in Italian design: Joe Colombo. Colombo was a visionary who imagined a modular, flexible and human-centred future. He understood that light should adapt to people’s lives, accompany them and enhance every everyday gesture. From his studio in Milan, Colombo left us with unforgettable pieces that continue to illuminate museums, homes and dreams around the world.

Luminaria Hey, Joe

Hey Joe

Inspired by this way of understanding design as a bridge between form and function, this luminaire wraps spaces in a soft, warm, indirect light. Its white interior embraces the light and softens it to avoid glare, creating a calm and comfortable atmosphere.  Made of aluminium — light, noble and everlasting — it is finished with a glossy lacquer that adds depth and nuance wherever it shines, be it in a home, a hotel or an office.

In short: discreet, elegant, timeless. A design that reminds us that light does not merely illuminate — it inspires. And that some classics, like good songs, always deserve to be played again.
