Flap, Design Plus Award 2016

The new Flap LED wall lamp, designed by Arkoslight’s Head of Design, Rubén Saldaña, has been awarded with the Design Plus Award 2016, jointly organised by the Light+Building fair and the German Design Council.

129 companies from all over the world presented 214 products to compete for this award which, finally, was only given to 26 winning designs. All of them can be seen in the upcoming Light+Building 2016.

The exhibition of the winning luminaries can be visited in Frankfurt am Main throughout the entire event (from the 13th to the 18th of March), in the area that is specifically set aside for the Design Plus Award 2016, in Hall 1.2, Stand A51.

According to the organisation, the jury took the global concept of the Flap design, its quality standards, its innovative value, its leading-edge high technology features and its environmental and ecological respect into account when making its decision.

Simple geometry and pure lines in this LED wall washer appliance. For its versatile fitting, it is suitable for group compositions where its essential design harmoniously fits in with both rational and random settings.

Formally designed as a sectioned disk, it stands out for its flatness and thinness. Compact and minimum volume, it delivers perfectly homogeneous light dispersion.
