Warp emerges from a circumference of the horizontal plane and takes shape with true fluidity. Thanks to a translucent and elastic material, this suspension luminaire plays with the effects of translucency, offering great visual lightness and sifting light through a defined contour.

Available in black and in two different sizes, it is extremely quick and easy to assemble and lies flat in its packaging.

Warp has been designed by the German studio Geckeler Michels. Its name refers to Einstein’s theory of spatial relativity and the distortion that the largest objects in the universe cause in space-time, with the understanding that light cannot escape this distortion and ends up sneaking into so-called black holes.

Thus, “Warp” is the shape that space-time takes in this whole process.

About Geckeler Michels

Based in Berlin and Luxembourg, Geckeler Michels seeks the intersection of functionality and human behavior with a distinctive perspective on the evolving forms and uses of everyday objects.

“Warp explores the fluidity and transparency of the textile in a simple gesture. A clear and elegant manner, which highlights the behavior of the material with light”.
