Slimgot y Zen ganan el IF Product Design Award
3,249 products of enormous variety are taking part in the 2014 edition of these awards in 17 different categories.
SLIMGOT (the new profile by Arkoslight) and ZEN (the new projector) have won the internationally prestigious IF Product Design Awards 2014. After several days of deliberation by the panel of judges in Hamburg (Germany) over the course of January, the two luminaires by the Spanish company are among the 1,220 best international designs at the event in 2014.
IF (or ‘seal of outstanding design quality’) is a distinction only given to the most outstanding designs from among the thousands of entries (products from around the world) that have competed in this prestigious event organised by the IF International Forum Design since 1954.
On this occasion, the panel of judges for the IF Product Design Awards 2014 was made up of 30 renowned figures from the world of design in Germany, Sweden, Taiwan, Australia, Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Japan, Turkey, Finland, China, South Korea, Ireland and Poland.
They all expressed a highly positive opinion regarding the quality and universality of the design conceived by Rubén Saldaña and his team – both ZEN and SLIMGOT – based on criteria related to the finish, choice of materials, degree of innovation, environmental impact, functionality, ergonomics, intuitive use, product safety and brand value.
After receiving this distinction, the new profile by Arkoslight (SLIMGOT) and the new projector (ZEN) automatically became eligible to become one of the products recognised with an IF Gold Award – also known as the ‘Design Oscar’, which will be announced on 28 February at the award ceremony at the BMW Welt exhibition centre in Munich.
Furthermore, the two products will form part of the IF Design exhibition that will be open to the public from 21 June to 21 September at the HafenCity in Hamburg, which will be attended by both the specialist media and companies from the design and architecture sector.
